Deputy Minister of Finance I, Jeneba Bangura, elected Vice Chair of the ATAF Women in Tax Network Board

In the Board Meeting held on Thursday, 23rd November 2023, board members of the ATAF Women in Tax Network unanimously elected Madam Jeneba Bangura, Deputy Minister of Finance I, as Vice Chairperson of their Board for two years.

She is expected to work closely with Mrs Veronique Herminie, the Chairperson elected to chair meetings of the Board, providing leadership to the AWITN, ensuring the implementation of its objectives, and generally providing strategic guidance on taking forward AWITN’s work.

The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) launched the Women in Tax Network in March 2021 to serve as a unique platform that represents and connects African women working in taxation with furthering discussion on the effect of tax policy on gender equality and empowering women in tax.

This network is a very significant achievement in the fight for gender equality and a true milestone in ATAF’s history as it will provide leadership training and mentorship avenues to empower African women in tax.

Madam Jeneba Bangura expressed appreciation to members of the Board for the confidence they bestowed on her to serve in such a capacity. She commits to working closely with the chairperson and other board members in furtherance of AWITN’s activities and programmes.
